Just got back from a wonderful WOMBAT weekend. If the organizers manage find sleep space on campus for participants, this could easily become a do-not-miss East Coast spin fest.
The point of these festivals, for me, is the rush that comes from being surrounded by hundreds of people who are just as dorky as I am about spinning.
Getting good means spending lots of hours. You’re never going to be good at spinning because of a few weekends spent blissfully sharing flow tactics with friends. But those weekends can recharge and inspire your personal practice. Show you new moves to work on. Explain new ways of thinking about spin. Display examples of what might happen to your flow if you spend a few thousand more hours at it.
The trick is to gather all that fun and inspiration, wrap it up, take it home and inject it into your daily practice.
